Parts Work Visualization

Overview

Externalize and visualize your internal system of parts — Managers, Firefighters, and Exiles — and their relationships to Self. Mapping these dynamics through interactive visualization supports therapeutic differentiation and self-compassion.

Clinical Evidence

  • Internal Family Systems (Richard Schwartz) identifies sub-personalities organized into Managers, Firefighters, and Exiles orbiting a core Self (Schwartz, 1995).
  • IFS is listed as an evidence-based practice by NREPP for mood disorders, trauma, and anxiety.
  • A randomized controlled trial showed IFS significantly reduced depression, anxiety, and PTSD symptoms (Hodgdon et al., 2022).
  • Externalizing internal experience through visualization enhances therapeutic differentiation and self-compassion (Anderson et al., 2017).
